![]() □ I tore my hair out trying to rescue my photos from iCloud which TBH are way more valuable than the songs on Google Music, so I've sworn, never again Apple, I'm not going to fall for the siren song of your cloud services. Props to Google for making my data very portable. *btw, this was an incredibly easy process. A portable app that keeps all its files in a single directory that I can unzip from the download would be preferable to something that requires an installer. And then I can delete it without leaving any cruft I don't imagine ever needing to do this for another 10 years. I think these are relatively simple requirements for a batch renamer, no? I'd prefer a simple app that does this one thing, but does it well. I don't need to account for trickier tags like composer, disc number, album artist (for collaborations), or track artist (for compilations) etc that a lot of people need to deal with: my music is fairly straightforward, but it IS very album-centric. The folders "Artist" and "Album" would need to be created by this program. Just looking for a renamer program that will read the ID3 tags and create folders and then rename/move files according to the following structure:Ĭ:\Music\Artist\Album\01 - Artist - Album - Track Title.mp3 I used to use Foobar2000 with plugins to auto arrange a directory tree structure, and then I used iTunes, but I don't want to use either now. Looking at the details tab, it looks like the ID3 tags were preserved, thankfully. I exported my tracks out of Google Music with Takeout because it's shutting down*, but it dumps everything into one flat directory. I haven't had to do this in at least 10 years, so I'm looking for recommendations. The MP3 renamer is a win32-tool, used to rename a lot of messed up filenames at once, mainly music-files. If the music files in your computer are so messy that you cant or are too lazy to classify them, then you might as well try this application that claims to.
